Dimitar Gorchakov is a Bulgarian jazz pianist and composer from Sofia, whose work moves freely between jazz, classical music, improvisation and experimental forms. After completing his studies, he became active in projects ranging from live accompaniment for silent films to music for theatre, exhibitions and performances combining sound and photography.

His artistic path has taken him to festivals across Europe, North and South America, and Scandinavia. In 2021, he released his debut solo piano album, Tomorrow’s Past, blending jazz, classical music and Bulgarian folklore into a deeply personal language. The album’s concert presentation earned him a Crystal Lyre nomination in the Jazz category. Through projects such as Dark Light and Piano Sketches, Gorchakov continues to stand out as a refined and versatile voice in contemporary jazz.
