Esil Duran is one of those voices in pop-folk that carry a different musical culture even before the first major hit. Born in Haskovo, she began with dancing and singing from an early age, and later graduated from the National Academy of Music in the class of Irina Chmihova, specializing in pop and jazz singing. It is precisely this foundation that sets her approach apart – her voice carries technique, softness, and freedom for improvisation, taking her beyond the standard genre frame.

With her debut album Esil Duran and the following Elmaz and Tya, she built a recognizable repertoire in which Balkan sensuality, pop-folk energy, and a jazz sensibility coexist naturally. Songs such as Tazi nosht ne spim, Luda sam, Zabravi li me, and Depressiya show an artist who knows how to preserve her style through different stages.
