AYA bares her soul in her new single “Vapros e na vreme” – a confession about children growing up without parents

With her new song Vapros e na vreme AYA takes a bold step away from commercial themes to give voice to a quiet yet devastating pain – that of abandoned children. The track is not just a musical project, but an emotional conversation about the emptiness left by the absence of a parent and the questions that remain unanswered for a lifetime.

Although AYA herself shares that she grew up in a stable and united family, the inspiration for the lyrics comes from her closest circle. “This song was inspired by the story of someone very close to me. Even though I haven’t experienced it personally, I’ve felt this trauma through the people I love,” the artist says.

Vapros e na vreme explores the theme of “normalized” separations in today’s world through the eyes of a child who has grown up but still carries the scars of abandonment. The song also touches on the fear of commitment and the feeling that love is something dangerous – emotions familiar to many raised in broken families.

The music video is equally powerful and deeply personal. It features AYA’s close friend, whose story inspired the song. “It was an incredibly personal experience. We both cried a lot during the filming. My goal with this project is to say out loud what many people feel but struggle to express,” AYA adds.

The touching lyrics are written by Aleksandra Koykova – AYA. The music is composed by Aleksandra Koykova – AYA and Yoan Nikolaev – L Padr3, with arrangement by Yoan Nikolaev – L Padr3.

Vapros e na vreme is released today, 22/01, on AYA’s official YouTube channel.
